“Asha Bhosle Live” – Ashaji to perform live in Muscat on February 14.

Muscat, January 28th, 2015: After hosting Oman’s biggest live concert “Temptations Reloaded” with Bollywood stars Shah Rukh Khan, Katrina Kaif, Priety Zinta and Ali Zafar in 2013; Light & Shadow Enterprises is back with its next production “Asha Bhosle Live” conducted by The Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra in association with Entertainment Network SAOC.

Asha Bhosle Live is being presented by Light & Shadow Enterprises and Hi FM.

The year 2015 is a historic year as Oman and India are celebrating the 60th year of their diplomatic relations and thus the event is being planned as the closing event of Muscat Festival 2015 with the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra and is being supported by the Embassy of India. The event will be held at the City Amphitheatre, Qurum on February 14.

J.S. Mukul, Indian ambassador to the Sultanate, said that he is absolutely delighted that a musical concert featuring legendary Indian singer Asha Bhosle in tandem with Sultanate’s very own Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra is being organised by Light and Shadow in association with Indian Embassy.

“Asha Bhosle, a Padma Vibhushan awardee and the Guiness Book of world record holder for most recorded artists in music history, is best known as a play back singer in Hindi cinema over a career spanning six decades.

“The gala musical event will be a part of grand finale of Muscat Festival in 2015, which had a dedicated India pavilion and special participation showcasing Indian dance and culture, arts and crafts, as well as traditional products and handicrafts,” he said.
“The event is going to be an epic event where we will be having the Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra conducting the entire concert and creating Asha Bhosle’s tunes to which the legend will be performing”.

“This is going to be an event like never before and taking Oman-India relations to a different platform and will be the official event to celebrate the closing ceremony of Muscat Festival 2015,” the organisers said.

“Further with India-Oman Celebrating its 60th Diplomatic Year and the Closing of Muscat Festival 2015 on February 14th this is a double celebration for the citizens of Oman and all nations to come enjoy this epic event and support our effort in bringing Asha Bhosle A and The Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra together on one stage for One Night Only,” he added.

Royal Oman Symphony Orchestra was established in September 1985.  On 1st July 1987 the ROSO, performed its debut concert and till date the total number of concerts exceeds over 100.

There have been many landmarks in the history of the ROSO including their appearance in 1996 with Lord Menuhin and in 2005 with Dr Subramaniam, both world famous violinists.

Many other world renowned conductors and musicians have graced the stage with ROSO including Dimitri Alexeyev, Russell Keable, Malcolm Binney and Simon Wright.
