Our talented chef Bobby Retnakumar Geetha took home the Gold Award for Executive Chef of The Year at the Hozpitality Excellence Awards last week in Dubai.
Holding the title for Indian Restaurant of the Year for two consecutive years, the Asha’s team were excited to participate in the Hozpitality Excellence Awards 2018, this time cheering on our two excellent chefs – Bobby Retnakumar Geetha and Nilaufar Ali. Up for two distinct nominations, Bobby and Ali felt confident as they walked into the beautifully decorated venue with their supporting team right behind them.
This year’s Hozpitality Excellence Awards was hosted in the Five Palm Jumeirah Hotel in the Palm on the 2nd May. Top industry organisations in F&B, including Asha’s Dubai, joined together for the prestigious awards ceremony. Aimed at recognising organisations that showcase skill, creativity, ingenuity and success in the Middle East and North Africa’s growing hospitality industry, the awards host numerous categories of success.
Hosting both awards through the standard online voting system, the awards also hosted an exclusive cookoff at the event for eight up-and-coming chefs in the region, amongst which were Asha’s talented young chef, Nilaufar Ali.
Nilaufar Ali prepared a beautifully decorated pan-seared salmon that captured the attention of food critics and guests alike. Despite not being finalised, we are profoundly proud of our young chef for being nominated and showcasing his talents and skills at such a prestigious awards ceremony.
When Bobby was announced as the winner for Executive Chef of The Year, the team rose in collective excitement. As a published author, blogger, MasterChef UK quarter finalist and consultant who has worked with some of Europe’s Michelin starred culinary greats, there was no surprise that chef Bobby was the correct fit for the Gold Award.
