A year of celebration
Asha’s Restaurants is also gearing up for another birthday celebration in 2017 as we celebrate our 15-year anniversary this December.
The driving force behind an award-winning culinary destination that transcends cultures and crosses continents, in 2002 Asha Bhosle’s passion for authentic, high quality North-West Indian-inspired food “from the heart” became accessible to Dubai diners with the opening of the first Asha’s at Wafi Mall.
A passing comment from her son that she should do something more with her love for cooking and open a one-of-a-kind restaurant to showcase her favourite recipes was the catalyst for the Asha’s Restaurants brand.
Asha’s global ambition
In just 15 years, the global Indian restaurant chain – the first of its genre – has become a firm favourite of regional and international diners with 13 locations in Abu Dhabi, Bahrain, Kuwait and Qatar in the Gulf, and Birmingham and Manchester in the UK. This August also sees the opening of the first of four locations in Saudi Arabia.
“I believe music and food go hand in hand. I have yet to meet a musician who is not a foodie and even though they may not cook regularly; they definitely try their hand at it and experiment. There seems to be a synergy between taste buds and ears. When I perfect a dish, it’s almost like singing the perfect song and a medley of perfect dishes is like the perfect concert,” said Asha.
